Great opportunity to work in a small, diversified, established greenhouse and nursery. The quality and variety of perennials and annuals we grow are exceptional. This position will take a lead role in the production, supervision and distribution of our product. Must be a team player, able to multi-task and be detail oriented. Responsibilities include prioritization of tasks, and decision making, management and supervision of other nursery employees and volunteers. Duties may include transplanting, watering, fertilizing, cleaning, tool maintenance, weeding and pruning, and moving plants. We are offering opportunities for advancement and continuing education, health insurance, vacations, possible bonuses and a salary commensurate with experience. Employee housing may also be available. Greenhouse and Nursery Laborers (filled for 2010) Duties may include transplanting, watering, fertilizing, cleaning, tool maintenance, weeding and pruning, moving plants, etc. No experience is needed. Require high energy, good humor and a willingness to work hard physically. These are seasonal positions, starting after February 1 (may start after school in May or June) through the summer and fall. Employee housing may also be available. Landscape Foreman (filled) We are seeking team leaders with strong organizational skills to install and maintain high end landscapes. This is a hands-on supervisory position. Our crews install and maintain irrigation systems, plant trees, shrubs and flowers, lay sod, prepare soil, weed (by hand and use weed-eater), prune, care for gardens, etc. Must have at least 1 year landscaping experience, be detail oriented, and able to communicate with clients and crew members (working knowledge of Spanish a plus). Should be experienced in operating hand-held equipment and skid loaders. A valid Driver's License is essential for crew leaders.
